Itouch Sports Band
questions about nike+ ?
i recently bought nike + and found that the chip that goes into the bottom of my ipod i dont need cos of it being an itouch and also i found out that it doesnt work cos i need a 2nd gen itouch when i have a first. i was thoinking about getting a nike+ Sports Band will this be the cheapest thing for me to do and will it work the same without the music from the ipod. also does the chip communicate with the band the same as with the ipod
Aha… you spotted one of the down sides of the Nike+ system (I’m not convinced by it and got a GPS watch instead).
The Nike+ sports band is cheaper than buying a new ipod, and possibly ipod arm band and it mostly works the same. You can get it to display all your running information (speed, distance, calories etc) and download them to computer after your run. You can also take part in the Nike+ human race with it too. The only thing the ipod does in addition to the sports band is the music functions.
I don’t run with music but I can understand that having your personal stereo change to a track that makes you feel good after a certain distance or time can improve some runners running.
But yes, to answer your question, the sports band will do everything that the ipod will do except any of the functions with music.
